The Beaujolais vineyard extends over 22,000 hectares to the North of the Monts du Lyonnais.
It is one of the rare French vineyards which only produces Appellation Contrôlée wines (label guaranteeing the quality of wine).
The 4,200 estates produce the different Beaujolais appellations.
Half the production is commercialised in France (cafés, hotels, restaurants, stores, supermarkets etc.) and the other is sold abroad (Switzerland, Germany, USA, United Kingdom etc.).
