The Climate

The Beaujolais region, which is close to Lyon, belongs to the continental family of vineyards where winters are cold and dry and summers are hot.

East to south facing, the vines hug to slopes that are protected from the west wind and enjoy sunny summers with a little Mediterranean influence.
Consequently the climate is temperate and rarely really cold.

The Gamay Noir à Jus Blanc grape variety makes the most of the gentle weather conditions and the harvest is relatively early, meaning that the grapes are really concentrated.
A great aspect for the vines, which are sometimes planted in terraces, allows the grapes to ripen well.
